The first time Guillermo Lago appeared was during the creation of two compositions for the concert program Tang\u00f3n<\/em>. Together with the Aurelia Saxophone Quartet, of which Willem is a founding member, the saxophonist wanted to explore how concert tango had evolved after the death of its great innovator, Astor Piazzolla.<\/p>\n In composing, Willem discovered the Spaniard within himself. \u201cGuillermo Lago turned out to fit wonderfully with the music I was creating, so I decided to continue composing under this name.\u201d The saxophonist now has more than forty compositions to his name, including the piece Bloemen in de Stilte,<\/em> specially written for the National Remembrance Day 2011.<\/p>\n For the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, of which Willem has been a member since 1990, he has arranged numerous pieces, including Wagner\u2019s Der Ring des Nibelungen<\/em> and Saint-Sa\u00ebns\u2019 Danse Macabre<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":2767,"menu_order":18,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-4515","musici","type-musici","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","instrumenten-saxophone"],"acf":{"musici_link_type":"link","musici_extra_images_vids":false,"musici_social_url":""},"yoast_head":"\n
